Last Call for Gulf Coast Native

Today is the last day for orders of Gulf Coast Native. We are incredibly fortunate for the opportunity to bring you this yarn from such a rare breed of sheep. Limited Editions such as this provide us the opportunity to share our love of sheep with you and provide much needed support to the farmers working hard to preserve this critically endangered breed.

As part of this Limited Release we are offering two complimentary patterns to accompany the yarn. Clara (pictured above) features cables which are accentuated by Gulf Coast Natives big, bouncy texture and was knit with our aran weight, 3-ply version of the yarn. Lucy (pictured below) was knit with our sport weight, 2-ply version. It features a similar cable pattern and a traditional ribbed brim.

More Celebrations of Gulf Coast Native:

  • A beautiful portrait of the Gulf Coast Native sheep was painted by our friend Abe Goodale. (picture above)
  • Our friends over at Making Stories had a conversation with founder Pam Allen about the process of making this yarn.
  • Small crochet puff stitch circles make for nostalgic tree ornaments - a reminder that Gulf Coast Native is not just for knitters! (pictured below)

We hope you had an opportunity to join in this special release. We plan to continue bringing you more Limited Edition yarns, supporting farmers, preserving endangered breed and celebrating fiber! Gulf Coast Native has really been a special yarn - we can't wait to see what you make with yours! Share you projects with us on Ravelry and Instagram
